PHX to PDX

Its always great to see Arizona bands play in Portland. It's even better when the show is packed. 12/9/10 at Artistery in Portland,OR, AZ bands reigned.

I love these guys as a band, and as people. Great set with high energy.

I've had their records for a while and though they are from my hometown, I had never seen them play live. Glad that my introduction was in front of a ton of rabid fans.

Arizona's brutal past

I know there are a ton of bands that aren't posted on this short list, but this is a decent start. The southwest has something to offer.

welcome to one hot orgy.....

On a 90 degree night, the venue was 130 inside. Drenched in sweat and dehydrated, but it didn't matter. Deviated Instinct finally came to Arizona on 9/8/10 and was well worth the wait.

Had never seen them but really like their split LP with TOAD. I recommend picking it up

These guys play out a lot and I never get to catch them. Good set.

Another reunited band that kills live.

drunk on straight edge

Touring bands, local bands and militant straight edge. We were put on notice. 10/3/09 at the Phix in Phoenix,AZ.

when I googled this band's name, a Hannah Montana video popped up as the main results. I pray to the imaginary god that they named themselves after that.

THE STRAIGHT EDGE BAND

an Arizona all star lineup of dudes who are still straight edge. militant and preachy, just how sxe should be

Royal Monsters tour Day 7: Seattle,WA

Seattle was the last day of tour for me because of my stupid teeth nneding to be pulled. This last day was a lot of fun. Filled with vegan Thai food and Arizona friends, definitely makes for good times. The show took place at West Seattle Legion Hall in Seattle,WA 7/31/09.

this set had circle pits, Elisa and Tim from Tucson. The trifecta of awesome

Royal Monsters tour Day 6: Portland,OR

another sweaty show, this time at an anarchist book store in Portland,OR called Laughing Horse Books 7/30/09. The show seemed to be barely promoted, but at least we got a ton of vegan pastries.

They sweat it out again and had a great set.

Royal Monsters tour Day 4: Reno,NV

I cant believe I'm saying this, but I really like Reno,NV. Or maybe we just ran into awesome people there. We stayed a couple nights with Joe from Contend and were treated so well. Great place to sleep, fed us pancakes, took us to a great vegetarian cafe, took us to the river for swimming. He is an all around great dude and I am personally glad to have met him.
The show took place at a house occupied by women who cleverly call it "the Hen Den". There was no drinking, drugs, homophobia, or sexism allowed, which is nice. The show took place 7/28/09 in Reno,NV with other fun HC bands Contend, Crime Time and Out of Reach.

bummed I didnt get any photos. This was their first show, and they totally ruled. Vegan straight edge HC with dueling female/male vocals. Definitely hope to see them again

This is the kind of melodic hardcore punk I like. Great band

Positive with lots of energy. A nice change from what I usually hear

the guys were really on at this show, I'm sure a lot had to do with the overall great experience we had in that city
