CARCASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never thought i would get to see Carcass live since they broke up before I had heard of them. This is another case of a band getting back together and making it work well enough for you to want them to stick around and not just have the novelty of seeing them on their "last tour".

This show was in Seattle,WA at El Corazon and was the only show on the tour that wasnt sold out or even over sold. I managed to find a great spot to stand and watch but was asked not to shoot video, so i had to pretend like i wasnt, which is why the video is so shaky.

Musicfest NW: WITCHCRAFT w/ Akimbo and Danava

Friday September 5th, Ash st Saloon hosted another stellar show as part of Musicfest NW featuring Akimbo from Seattle,WA, Danava from Portland,OR and headlined by Swedish classic rockers, WITCHCRAFT.

AKIMBO

Akimbo had a pretty good set, though the crowd didnt seem to get behind them, i would definitely like to see more of them in the future.

i definitely enjoy Danava live more than the recordings i heard. unfortunately the audio isnt very good on the video.

WITCHCRAFT

Witchcraft far exceeded my expectations. My review of their performance can be summed up in one word.
Wow!
Do NOT miss this band!

Musicfest NW: Scared of Chaka

Sometimes when you go to a reunion show for a band they seem uninspired, like they were made to do it by too much demand, money, or whatever reason. Other times you get lucky and get to see something more powerful than you remember. That was the case with the Scared of Chaka reunion show 9/4/08 at Ash St Saloon in Portland,OR.

I had not seen Scared of Chaka play since i was 17 years old(1997). Back then the faces were younger, the crowd was smaller, and Dave Fernandez was threatened by security that they would kick him out of the club if he took another drink of beer on stage. Definitely a different show this time. The venue was packed, beer and whiskey being sprayed everywhere, stage diving and bloody handed guitar players. Who would have thought this was a pop punk band playing.

here is some live video of the show. I shot 30 minutes total which you can see the rest of at my
