a bone to pick

I couldnt believe Bone Awl was touring. After listening to their records at my friend Timwie's house I was instantly stoked off of their black metal/punk sloppiness. The show seemed to get moved around a lot and ended up in a basement kind of farther out in Southeast PDX, which is a bad place for house shows. It also wasnt allowed to be advertised and was the most expensive house show ever. Nonetheless, Warwolves and Bone Awl were awesome.

Amebix Secret Show

5/25/09, the day after their show at the Hawthorne Theatre in Portland,OR, Amebix played a free secret show at a small punk rock bar called the Know.  Apparently they havent done anything like this in near 30 years. All members seemed to be great guys, cracking jokes between songs and hanging out with everyone, playing 40 minutes to approx 90 lucky people.  I was also able to record the entire performance so enjoy!!!!

MDF day 2: Birdflesh, Bolt Thrower, Phobia, General Surgery

Day 2 of the Maryland Death Fest was amazing, and I have video to prove it. I'm sure you know that Bolt Thrower played, and dominated, but Birdflesh and General Surgery held their own and killed.

last time I saw Birdflesh was MDF 05. They were so damn good. This performance was even better.  Definitely one of the main reasons i traveled that far.
