Morbid Reality Fest

Sorrower was fortunate enough to play with some great bands at the Morbid Reality Fest on 11/13/10 at the BLVD in Los Angeles,CA . Plutocracy being one of them.

Impreggonaut

Not much to say other than this show had one of the best local lineups I have seen in a while. GodAwfulNoise, Lago, and Impregnator are probably my 3 favorite Phoenix area bands right now. It also doesn't hurt that Intronaut killed as well. The show took place 11/4/10 at Rogue Bar in Scottsdale,AZ.

GodAwfulNoise

Ex members of Sunyata and Deadwrong. Both were good bands, but this is a great band. Stoked to hear more from these guys.

Brutal, catchy death metal. My first time catching them live and wasn't disappointed. They have a new EP out that you can get at Pale Horse Recordings

Currently my favorite AZ band

Hadn't seen them since the Void album. They have added softer vocal parts in some songs that still maintain their heaviness.

old dogs, old tricks

Drunk, stoned and aged. Venomous Concept features members of Napalm Death and Brutal Truth. I caught some footage of Kill the Client as well. Show took place 9/18/10 @ Satyricon in Portland,OR.

I have seen them many times over the years, and each time they rip even more.

These guys were way more entertaining live than Brutal Truth, in my opinion. They really brought it live.

Arizona's brutal past

I know there are a ton of bands that aren't posted on this short list, but this is a decent start. The southwest has something to offer.

Violently Impregnated

Everytime I come back to Phoenix, I hope there is a show at the Slurp. Easily my favorite show space/venue maybe anywhere. Violence of Humanity from Portland came through on tour and nearly got heatstroke on 9/5/10 in Tempe,AZ.

First time seeing these guys. One of my new favorite AZ bands

Great set again, they managed to make it through an Arizona summer warehouse show

High School Musical

Ok this is my first post thats relevant to the time I actually shot the video in a long time. Great show to start off with. Violence of Humanity is a Portland grindcore band with members of Abandon and Transient. This show was their kickoff at a little house in SE Portland that was full of veggie dogs, watermelon, and drunk teenagers. This show took place 8/29/10 at the Hobbit Hole in Portland, OR

usually when you see a band that the age of the members are around 14-16 years old, you can expect to hear pop punk, street punk, or even worse, metalcore. Luckily, instead of worshiping the Casualties or As I lay Dying, these kids listen to Engorged and Hirax and the likes. They are definitely young and not so polished, but seeing a 15 year old kid already writing riffs that make your head move is a great sign of things to come. Also brutal teenage female vocals doesn't hurt.

This band has two members from Arizona, but reside in Portland. Arizona seems to be invading that city

Fun drunk set from these guys. Will have more video of them when they play the Slurp on September 5.

Crime against the Machine

Finally got a chance to check out Crime Machine! They played Ash St Saloon in Portland,OR 7/9/09.

Excruciator obviously are fans of early Metallica

These guys were pretty brutal.

2 guitars, 2 bass'. Grindcore with plenty of commentary

pop a top

The flier is a little misleading. Burials was not able to play, Blueprint for Disaster and Ritual Necromancy took their place. The show was at a punk basement next door to a strip club called the Boneyard on 6/20/09.

great opening set

a lot of energy, they had a lot of Eyehategod influence, which is always cool to hear

all the way from Denver. grindy with some slow songs as well

RITUAL NECROMANCY

great set, wish the vocals would have come out

Unholy Grave day 2- Seattle

Unholy Grave is too good to only see once. So Mike and I hit the road to Seattle to see them play at the Vera Project on 6/14/09. The venue seems pretty rad, but I dont live there so I dont know well enough about it. We missed the supporting bands since we had to eat and it was at 170 mile drive.

Glad that I have seen them 3 times this year,, too bad they didnt bring the circle pit cones

still one of the best bands ever
