Unholy Grave day 2- Seattle

Unholy Grave is too good to only see once. So Mike and I hit the road to Seattle to see them play at the Vera Project on 6/14/09. The venue seems pretty rad, but I dont live there so I dont know well enough about it. We missed the supporting bands since we had to eat and it was at 170 mile drive.

Glad that I have seen them 3 times this year,, too bad they didnt bring the circle pit cones

still one of the best bands ever

Unholy Grave day 1-- Portland

It had been 2 years since Unholy Grave left Japan and came to Portland with Insect Warfare. This time they came rolling through with DC's Magrudergrind. On 6/13/09 at the Satyricon, these bands absolutely killed. Phobia had to cancel the tour, and I got their late and missed Transient and most of Superbad's sets.

This was the 5th time I have seen these guys over the last 5 years. Everytime they have gotten better and have defined their sound even more.

To me, this is one of the greatest bands ever

AI and War Cry

If you could wade through the sea of charged hair and punk stereotypes, you would eventually find yourself at a pretty entertaining show. On 6/6/09 at Satyricon in Portland,OR AI and War Cry played enthusiastic sets to a dull crowd..

AI

AI's vocalist is intense to watch live. I would definitely see them again..

WAR CRY

I only caught their last few songs, which sucks because I was really stoked watching them.

more bodies for Coffins

On our way to Los Angeles we stopped in San Francisco to see Coffins, Stormcrow, Samothrace, and Laudanum. The show was at Annie's Social Club on 5/08/09.

Laudanum is awesome, eclectic, and fucking heavy. This was Nathan's (Graves at Sea) first show as vocalist and I think he fit well

there was a guy up front that kept telling Jason he was hot, we all tend to agree

I love this band

mess with the best, die like the rest

This was probably one of the most fun nights ever for various reasons. My friend Casey who plays in a new band called CRIME MACHINE (check em out) and I took a drive out to Eugene to check out the Coffins/Stormcrow/Yob show.

in the photo above the man is wearing a leather duster with a huge skull. surrounding the skull were these words of true tough guy wisdom. "mess with the best, die like the rest". which makes me wonder if he really kills people who mess with him.

This time the vocals were back and these guys had a great set, cant wait to see them at Murderfest!

I cant say enough about this band. Fucking brutal will suffice for now

I finally got to see Yob! My good friend Zac bought me one of their albums a couple years back and I was really diggin it. When they broke up I was bummed because I never thought I would get to see them live, luckily they reformed. This is their 1st show in their hometown of Eugene,OR in around 5 years
