the D-beat goes on
PHX to PDX
Its always great to see Arizona bands play in Portland. It's even better when the show is packed. 12/9/10 at Artistery in Portland,OR, AZ bands reigned.
I love these guys as a band, and as people. Great set with high energy.
I've had their records for a while and though they are from my hometown, I had never seen them play live. Glad that my introduction was in front of a ton of rabid fans.
3 continents
I can't believe I got to see Blasphemophager, and even more so I can't believe I hadn't heard Diocletion until that night. I was completely blown away. On 12/2/10 @ Plan B bar along side one PDX's most brutal bands, Weregoat.
These guys kill. Anyone that likes brutal, primitive death metal will likely go nuts for these guys.
For Chaos, Obscurity, and Desolation was one of my favorite records this year, so I was pretty pumped to see them leave Italy and come all the way to Portland.
All the way from New Zealand to crush.

Morbid Reality Fest
Impreggonaut
Not much to say other than this show had one of the best local lineups I have seen in a while. GodAwfulNoise, Lago, and Impregnator are probably my 3 favorite Phoenix area bands right now. It also doesn't hurt that Intronaut killed as well. The show took place 11/4/10 at Rogue Bar in Scottsdale,AZ.
GodAwfulNoise
Ex members of Sunyata and Deadwrong. Both were good bands, but this is a great band. Stoked to hear more from these guys.
Brutal, catchy death metal. My first time catching them live and wasn't disappointed. They have a new EP out that you can get at Pale Horse Recordings
Currently my favorite AZ band
Hadn't seen them since the Void album. They have added softer vocal parts in some songs that still maintain their heaviness.

g0g hates us all
Fighting boredom and a fever (not the Bieber kind) I finally got to see Mike Bjella's (Black Hell, Wellington, Unruh) semi-solo project gOg. Most noise/drone/etc usually is tiresome to me but he keeps it interesting and luckily short. In the video below all you see is the lights from the various pedals but its almost the entire set. I'd definitely be inclined to see him again. The show took play 10/22/10 @ Am West in Phoenix,AZ.
