Royal Monsters tour Day 2: Fresno,CA

I can't say I am a fan of Fresno,CA. Its kind of a sketchy town, but the kids at the show were super nice and were giving away free Otter Pops. The show was at a small venue called the Chinatown Youth Center where Necrowizard and Bombpops also played on 7/26/09.

I'm not sure if there is a better name than Necrowizard. I think these kids will be pretty good when they are older

fast punk rock reminiscent of the 90's. Definitely not what I expected

ROYAL MONSTERS

Fresno brought a circle pit, good job

Royal Monsters tour Day 1: Murrieta,CA

I hit the road with Royal Monsters, a newer hardcore punk band from Phoenix,AZ. The tour was in support of their debut ep that Newage Records put out.
We showed up early in the morning to Chris' house from 7 Generations in San Juan Capistrano,CA. A gorgeous city near the ocean in Orange County. We ate at a great vegan/vegetarian place called Mother's Market, then headed to Newport Beach and heckled people like immature assholes. We then headed to the show in Murrieta at a place called Vic's Warehouse. In the daytime this warehouse is used for what I believe is an auto glass business. It's always cool to see somewhat support underground music in such a way as to open up his own business to touring bands.

1st show on tour, the guys sounded great. Kids were kind of just standing around for all the bands.

Landmine/Funeral Pyre split release!!!

For the 2nd time in a week Landmine Marathon played a super hot art space in Tempe. This time was their release party for the split 7inch with the Funeral Pyre who were kicking off their 5 week tour. The bill was a mixed bag with uber tech death Vireamia, hardcore band Ready Resist, and a newer young metal band called Intestinator. The show took place at Modified Arts in Phoenix,AZ 7/22/09

1st time seeing this band. Great set, think they have some good potential.

I'm not a fan of tech at all, but these guys were super tight, and I know a lot of people would be way stoked off of them

the guitar player and I argued over who loves xButlerx more. I totally won

Landmine played some new songs that absolutely killed

Monsters and lack of ceilings

Just finished spending a week on the road with an awesome hardcore punk band from Arizona called ROYAL MONSTERS. I will have tons of footage up soon, but for now check out this Val's new blogspot of her live music photography. Below is a photo she took of Landmine Marathon at Modified Arts in Phoenix,AZ. Lots of other rad stuff to look at.
